Sheep Penis

  • 1 sheep's penis
  • 10 egg yolks
  • 1/2 tsp saffron
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • 1 tbsp lard
  • 1 pinch of each; ginger, cinnamon, and black pepper

Thoroughly wash the penis. Combine eggs, saffron, and milk in bowl. Temper with lard and stuff the penis. Do not overstuff the penis.

Blanch the stuffed penis in boiling water. Roast until golden brown and dust with ginger, cinnamon, and black pepper.

This recipe was originally published in Wel ende edelike spijse (Good and Noble Food) around the mid 15th century. The original recipe name translates roughly to "Sheep's Penis for the foodie." I can see the Yelp reviews now.
